Dr Cherie is a passionate chiropractor who has dedicated her career supporting families through each stage of life. she has a special interest in neurodevelopment and its correlation to learning and behaviour outcomes in children.

Cherie’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Science majoring in Anatomy and Physiology with a Graduate Diploma and Masters in Chiropractic Science. Cherie is committed to keeping up to date with current chiropractic research, bringing the latest advancements in treatments to her patients with further studies that have her well trained in Paediatric and Antenatal Care. Cherie is personally interested in migraines and headaches as well as exploring the roll of gut health in many common conditions. Primary techniques include manual adjusting, Kinesiology and SOT.

Cherie investigates the strong link between eliminating interference from peoples nervous systems and their quality of life; solving a problem that stops people being able to live life to their fullest potential.

With over 12 years of experience, Sheila brings a wealth of knowledge and professional expertise to Back to Balance. Sheila incorporates musculoskeletal acupuncture into her treatments to further enhance patient outcomes with care and making her a popular and clever choice for sufferers of arthritis, chronic pain, sciatica and other conditions her methods are proven to assist with.

May joins Back to Balance bringing with her over 18 years of clinical chiropractic experience. As mother of four, she is passionate about helping families achieve optimal health and wellbeing. Her wide range of skills include combining traditional adjusting techniques with components of Applied Kinesiology, Sacro Occipital Technic (SOT), Musculoskeletal Acupuncture and Webster’s Technique for expectant mum’s.

Dr. Tarek Sari

Dr Tarek graduated from Macquarie University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science, majoring in anatomy, physiology and chiropractic technique. In 2006, he completed his Masters of Chiropractic degree again at Macquarie University. Dr Tarek believes it is paramount to stay up to date with the latest research and techniques, and has undertaken numerous seminars in sports medicine, dry needling, rehabilitation and paediatrics. Dr Tarek has added a Diploma in Chiropractic Paediatrics to his qualifications in 2018. As well as recently completing courses in Kinesiology and Hijama to add to his repertoire of treatment options.

Treating paediatrics is a passion of Dr Tareks and seeing the amazing results is what continually drives him to come to work each and every single day.

Away from caring for patients, you’ll find Dr Tarek spending time with his lovely wife and three children. He also enjoys cycling, playing golf, oz tag and attending regular seminars.

Aline comes to us with 12 years of clinical experience. She is a Chiropractor and mum. She is certified in Applied Kinesiology (A.K), Neuroemotional Technique (N.E.T), Advanced Biostructural Correction (ABC) and Bio-geometric Integration (BGI). She uses her techniques to assist her clients balance their emotional, chemical and physical stressors and find freedom in their minds and bodies. Chiropractic is not just a profession but a way of life for her and her young family.

Dr Charles, originally from Perth moved to Sydney in 2016 and has previously worked at Back to Balance for 4 and a half years. He returns to the Woolooware clinic after a brief 1 year hiatus after getting married. His wide range of skills includes kinesiology, dry needling and cupping as well as chiropractic care. He has a passion for mechanics of the spine and helping people get moving back to their best.

Qualified in Exercise Physiology and Chiropractic, Jay is a holistic family Chiropractor whose emphasis is on helping clients reach their full potential. Jay utilises manual adjusting techniques along with Applied Kinesiology, NeuroEmotional technique (NET), and Sacro-Occipital Technic (SOT).

Dr. Chuck Tsui

Dr. Chuck Tsui is a passionate chiropractor with a Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Metabolism from Sydney University.

Chuck’s special interests are in family care, injury prevention, rehabilitation, back and neck pain, and chronic conditions such as scoliosis.

With a background in professional soccer, Chuck pursued a career in chiropractic after suffering sporting injuries and seeking chiropractic care to recover and improve his sporting performance.

Chuck is a member of the Chiropractors’ Association of Australia and Sport Medicine Australia, he has attended seminars in Gonstead and Diversified.

Outside of practice, Chuck enjoys playing soccer, swimming, and working out at the gym. Chuck grew up in Hong Kong and moved to Australia during his teens, he is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

Matthew Grant-Smith

Principal Physiotherapist

Matthew graduated from the University of Sydney in 2015 with a Masters of Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Health Science (majoring in movement sciences). His interest in physiotherapy emerged while assessing human movement and diagnosing muscle imbalances and acute injuries. Matt’s true passion is transitioning his client’s painful injuries into robust rehabilitation programs and getting them back to the things they love.

Matt is currently the head of physiotherapy at the North Shore Mariners FC. He also with a Football Federation Australian physiotherapist with the “Future Matildas” squad. He has been the team physio for the Sydney Blue Sox in the Australian Baseball League, Marconi Stallions FC and Hakoah FC in the National Premier League,  and was involved with Norths Rugby in the Shute Shield and various other school and club sport.

Since graduating Matt has commenced the pathway to become a specialist sports physiotherapist. He has completed various other qualifications such as the NeckSafe spinal safety program. A new interesting addition to his clinical work is the use of blood flow restriction or blood occlusion training – get in contact to see how this device may assist your return to sport.

Jess has recently moved to the Cronulla area and is joining us from another IHC company PHYZ X.

Joining PHYZ X in 2015. Jess is driven, committed and open-minded to explore every avenue to help clients on their health journey. With the future of allied health delivery front of mind, Jess is not only always learning herself, but thrives in coordinating the professional futures of over 30 allied health students every year.

With special interests in children, adolescents, disability, tendon injuries, dance performance and technology.

Jess loves being able to help her clients set and then reach both their health and fitness goals, and enjoys being able to do this as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Fun fact about Jess – Jess breeds and trains German Shepherd dogs; a passion that has taken her all over the world!

Ed graduated from Western Sydney University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences/Master of Physiotherapy degree due to his passion for helping others. Ed enjoys working with all kinds of clients with various injuries or conditions to achieve their physiotherapy goals. He also has a keen interest in treating dizzy patients manage their vertigo or vestibular related conditions.

Ed enjoys being a physio as he loves helping others get the most out of their lives. Outside of work Ed enjoys snowboarding, hiking, camping, snorkelling, and walking his greyhound with his fiancé.

Ash brings 5 years of experience from working within the fitness industry. Ash was initially a personal trainer and later transitioned into manual therapy. He is confident in providing sessions which incorporate manual therapy with holistic fitness advice. His extensive knowledge in anatomy enables him to provide specialised management and treatment for anything from sports-related injuries to chronic conditions. Outside of work, Ash has a keen interest in mixed martial arts and outdoor activities.

In 2012, Kiah completed her Diploma of Remedial Massage, and within her 8 years of experience she has treated a variety of people ranging from elite athletes to pregnant women.

Kiah is passionate about helping people achieve an overall mind, body, and spiritual awareness. Kiah’s skills and intuitive touch help relax tension held within areas of the body, while also helping the mind and soul deeply relax into the reset you need.

Her bodywork style includes Relaxation, Swedish, Deep Tissue, Remedial, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports and Pregnancy Massage, aiming to create a balancing and holistic approach to remedial massage.

Elvirah obtained her Undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Chinese Medicine back in 2007. She is currently taking her Master of Chinese medicine in Western University and is qualified as a remedial massage therapist.

She approaches her patients through a holistic perspective as a whole individual. She also does dry needling, cupping, and hot stone therapy. She is very interested in pre-natal, post-natal, musculoskeletal, endocrinology, gynaecology, paediatric and oncology treatment.

Musculoskeletal problems such as frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, sciatica, piriformis syndrome, neck stiffness, scoliosis, or rhomboid discomfort might be beneficial with a series of treatments. Headaches, TMJ syndrome (pain when open mouth to eat due to nerve pain around the jaw), tinnitus, digestive problems, adjuvant or palliative cancer care, and post-stroke treatment as well as disability care could be assisted through a combined therapy with dry needling, cupping and massage.
